Norway-EU energy cooperation

The Ministry's EEA Strategy describes how the Ministry's work on EU/EEA matters is organised, and sets out goals and priorities. It includes a list of important fora in which the Ministry participates, and useful links to more information.

How the Ministry's work on EU/EEA matters is organised:

• The      responsibility for each legislative act lies within the relevant units of      the Ministry.
• The      Ministry's internal EEAcoordination      group discusses and coordinates the      Ministry's work.
• The Energy Counsellor in Brussels follows EU      energy policy closely and reports back to the Ministry.
• Energy      acts are discussed with other relevant Ministries in regular meetings ("spesialutvalget      for energy").
• The      Ministries also meet regularly to discuss EU matters of a general nature ("koordineringsutvalget      for EU/EØS")
• Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein meet in EFTA's      working group on energy
• The      Ministry organises regular meetings with Norwegian stakeholders to discuss      relevant EU issues in the energy field.
