Trond Ivar Bækken (Sp) is engaged in a 60 percent position as political advisor to Minister of Justice and Emergency Emilie Enger Mehl in the period 2 January – 31 July 2023.

From 27 October 2021 – 2 September 2022 he held the same position: He was political adviser to Minister Enger Mehl.

Bækken has been a communications adviser in the Center Party's parliamentary group since 2018. Before that he was a journalist and editor at NRK.

Bækken has previously been project manager in Peer Gynt AS, as well as being an intern and communications officer at the Norwegian Consulate General in New York.

He is a trained journalist from Oslo Metropolitan University.
