In March 2010 the Government decided to carry out a more thorough study of the raising of the wreck U-864. The Norwegian Coastal Administration was assigned the task of performing a study on different alternatives for the handling of U-864, a so-called concept selection study. The following alternatives have been addressed: the zero alternative, capping, raising, a combination of raising and capping, and combinations of raising and dredging. This investigation has now been subject to a compulsory external quality assurance.
- I will now study the report in detail. The Government will then inform the Storting in an appropriate way of further developments in the process, says Minister of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs Lisbeth Berg-Hansen.
