Former Minister of Finance Kristin Halvorsen (Socialist Left Party)

The Minister of Finance, who has the main responsibility for national economic policy, co-ordinates the preparation of the national budget. Finance minister Kristin Halvorsen was born in Horten on 2 September 1960. Kristin Halvorsen was appointed Minister of Finance in 2005. She has been a member of the Parliament since 1989, and was elected to lead the Socialist Left Party party in 1997. She was a member of the Parliament Standing Committee on Finance from 1989-1997.
