Report for Norway to the OECD

Annually Norway sends a report to the OECD – Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. The report Migration and Integration 2020–2021 – Report for Norway to the OECD is a contribution to the reporting system on migration for the OECD countries.

The most recent report covers 2020 and to some extent 2021, especially concerning new policies. Eight ministries have contributed to the report: the Ministry of Labour and Social Inclusion, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Children and Families, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Health and Care Services, the Ministry of  Local Government and Regional Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The report contains statistics on migration, on the composition of immigrants and their Norwegian-born children and on integration indicators in various social areas, mainly based on data from Statistics Norway and the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration. The report presents an overview of immigration and integration policy principles and measures. It covers the major types of migration, integration in general, training, education, labour market issues, housing, political participation, child welfare, discrimination, citizenship, public debate and opinion, as well as policies concerning migration and development. As last year year, there is a special chapter on Covid-19, immigrants and information, based on statistics and analyses from the National Institute of Public Health.

The report for Norway and similar reports for the other member countries are important input to the annual publication from the OECD, International Migration Outlook. See the OECD website on migration
