Immigration and Integration 2019–2020

Report for Norway to the OECD

Annually Norway sends a report to the OECD – Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. The report "Immigration and Integration 2019–2020 – Report for Norway to the OECD" is a contribution to the reporting system on migration for the OECD countries.

The most recent report covers 2019 and to some extent 2020, especially concerning new policies. It was prepared during the autumn of 2020 by the Ministry of Education and Research in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Children and Families, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health and Care Services.

The report contains statistics on migration, on the composition of immigrants and their Norwegian-born children and on integration indicators in various social areas, mainly based on data from Statistics Norway and the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration. The report presents an overview of immigration and integration policy principles and measures. It covers the major types of immigration, integration in general, training, education, labour market issues, political participation, child welfare, discrimination, citizenship, public debate and opinion, as well as policies concerning migration and development. This year, there is also a special chapter on Covid-19, immigrants and information. It also lists some recent, relevant publications that are available in English or contain a summary in English.

The report for Norway and similar reports for the other member countries are important input to the annual publication from the OECD, International Migration Outlook. See the OECD website on migration.  (legg inn link til http://www.oecd.org/migration/)
