Bent-Joacim Bentzen was appointed as State Secretary in the Ministry of Transport on 16th January 2023. His previous position was State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence. From 2019 to 2021, he worked as an Executive for transport and infrastructure in Nordland county.

 Bentzen worked as a political advisor for the Centre Party's parliamentary group from 2018-2019. He has nine years of experience as a non-commissioned officer and later officer in the Norwegian Armed Forces.

Apart from his military education, Bentzen has studied political science at NTNU and started an MBA in management from Nord University. He is a deputy to the central board of the Centre Party.
