Andreas Bjelland Eriksen (b. 1992) was appointed Minister of Climate and Environment October 16th 2023. Before his term as Minister Mr. Bjelland Eriksen served as State Secretary at the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy and State Secretary at the Office of the Norwegian Prime Minister.
Andreas Bjelland Eriksen grew up in Stavanger, and has a Master of Science in Business from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) and Università Bocconi (2012-2017). He has also studied jurisprudence at the University of Oslo.
Mr. Bjelland Eriksen has previously worked as an advisor at The Norwegian Energy Regulatory Authority (2017-2020) and as a political advisor to The Standing Committee on Business and Industry for the Labour Party parliamentary group from 2020 before being appointed to State Secretary for Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre at the Prime Minister's Office on 14th October 2021.
His political background include leader for the Workers' Youth League in Rogaland (2010-2012), board member at the European Youth Norway (2012-2013), board member at Rogaland Labour Party (2010-2015) and County council representative for the Labour Party in Rogaland (2011-2019).
