Norwegian Board of Health Supervision

Norwegian Board of Health Supervision has the overall responsibility for the supervision of health and social services in Norway. Norwegian Board of Health Supervision shall monitor health and social services to ensure that the needs of the population are met and that services are provided in accordance with professional standards. The Board shall also work to prevent deficiencies in the provision of services. 

Norwegian Board of Health Supervision in the counties is the government`s regional supervisory authority at county level. It monitors health and social services and all health and social service personnel in the relevant county, and is organised under the county governor`s office.
