Section for Alcohol, Drugs and Tobacco Policy

The Section is responsible for the Alcohol Act, the Vinmonopolet Act and the Tobacco Control Act, with accompanying regulations. Furthermore, the Section is responsible for the governance of AS Vinmonopolet and the Appeal Board for Vinmonolopet’s purchases. 

The Section is also responsible for drug prevention, coordination of the international drugs policy and for doping as a societal problem.

Furthermore, the Section is responsible for international cooperation within the other areas of the Section, including follow-up of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control and the Protocol to Eliminate Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products.
