Norwegian Customs shall prevent illegal imports and exports of goods and facilitate correct and efficient imports and exports of goods.
The main duties of Norwegian Customs are managing the regulatory framework governing customs duties and the import and export of goods, checking that goods are correctly declared, assessing and checking the basis for customs duties, as well as performing tasks for other government bodies at the border.
Norwegian Customs had 1,541 employees as at 31 December 2022.
