Statistics Norway

The statistics prepared by Statistics Norway encompass most aspects of society. Statistics Norway is responsible for the National Accounts and other key economic statistics. This information is used in, inter alia, preparing the National Budget and long-term plans. Other examples of economic statistics are data on Norway’s international trade, tax revenues, inflation, production, labour force participation and unemployment.

Statistics Norway is also responsible for the coordination of statistics prepared by other government bodies, and has overall responsibility for Norway’s participation in international statistical cooperation.

Statistics Norway had 837 employees as at 31 December 2022.
